Improving Maternal Child and Adolescent Health

Research

The Sydney Global Maternal and Child Health Network's current research themes provide an initial focus to our work and may be supplemented and further refined in the future. Overlap and collaboration between different themes are expected and encouraged.

Includes under- and over-nutrition (obesity and nutritional deficiencies)

Includes transmissible disease, infection control and prevention

Includes pregnancy, neonatal and infant care, normal growth and development

Includes cerebral palsy, congenital abnormalities, metabolic and other chronic disease

The respective research themes will be championed by leaders from the Discipline of Child and Adolescent Health, largely based at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the University of Sydney School of Public Health at Camperdown.

Leaders have experience and a strong track record working in low and middle income countries.
